Festive Crafts

This is the first Christmas that I've had my blog and it has been really inspiring to see so many different crafts and projects on other people's blogs. I thought I would give it a go and try a couple of projects myself as I have never done anything handmade over Christmas. I actually really enjoyed myself and want to get more into making handmade projects and DIY things around the house in the new year.
The two projects I tried this week were making handmade Christmas cards and a homemade Christmas wreath:

Have you tried your hand at any festive crafts this week?

Christmas Decorating

I just wanted to give you a sneak peek of some of my Christmas decorating today as it's Christmas eve!

                                                           Festive bow from H and M :)
I put my leftover baubles into a vase to make a Chistmassy decoration for the lounge!

Next year I  want to have a go at making some of my own decorations for the Christmas tree. When I was little we had a whole collection of Chrsitmas tree ornaments that had been passed down through the family for generations and I think this is such a lovely tradition! What do you do to decorate at Christmas time?

Pretty display of Charbonnel and Walker chocolates- my favourite ones are the pink champagne truffles

Healthy homemade stew with beetroots, parsnips, butterbeans and ginger for an extra immune system boost!

I love the shop floor at Heal's- the attention to detail is lovely and my favourite thing in there is the paper lantern displays hanging from the ceiling.

A wall of festive baubles.... where is my Christmas tree?

Festive hauling!

I love how everything feels more sleepy and cosy around Christmastime. These are a few things that I                                                                   bought yesterday to use over the holidays!

This bath oil is from Badedas  ( find it here )  Badedas products can be quite pricey but they are gorgeous. They smell amazing (I think this one has horsechestnut in it) and they contain natural moisturisers that make your skin feel really smooth and soft. I also find that if you have muscle pains or just a tired, achy body they can leave you feeling so much more relaxed and energised.

I am really into facial oils at the moment especially because it is so cold and windy outside and my skin has been getting really dry. This oil is deliciously rose scented and it feels really good letting it sink into my skin after a hot shower or bath. I have been a fan of the Palmer's cocoa butter products for a while now and this product in particular not only nourishes the skin but also is good for any marks, blemishes or discolouration as well. (And just to repeat myself the rose smell is soo good)

I bought this trio of bubblebaths from the new Wash Posh range at Imperial Leather because they were relatively inexpensive and the packaging was pretty. I have actually been really enjoying using them, they make lots of bubbles and they also smell rather lovely. Overall, I would definitely repurchase these- especially the middle one 'Blissful Escape' because I love the scent of jasmine.

I have recently been using Aussie hair care shampoo and conditioner and loving them and so I thought I would get their Miracle Styling Mousse as well to give it a go. I tried this out yesterday and I didn't really notice much effect. My hair dried quite flat and I didn't really see any added volume or curl. I am going to give it another try and use a little more of the product next time and hopefully I will see some better results!

I have been looking for a good makeup remover for a while and I have seen this  Garnier Micellar Cleanisng Water positively reviewed in a lot of blogs and vlogs (BubzBeauty!) I have been LOVING this product for two reasons. Firstly, it is the first makeup remover I have ever used that actually gets rid of all of my eye makeup and means that I don't wake up the next day with sketchy black rims under my eyes...  Secondly, you don't need to rub at your skin with this, you can just place the cotton pad on your skin for ten seconds and it loosens the makeup underneath so that you can really easiy and gently remove it with a couple of swipes. I will definitely be repurchasing this one.

Let me know if there are any products you have bought to try out over the Christmas season and how you are finding them?

I love the beautiful melding of the colours in these leaves. Imagine if you could take the vibrancy and interspacing of the colours from here and use them in an autumnal scarf or bag?

I saw this Christmas tree while I was out shopping at the weekend. I like the idea of combining lots of different kinds of baubles on your tree.

                                              Different coloured whisky, balloon glasses.

Hot, spiced mulled wine after a wintry walk.

I love Michael Aram homeware items. This is a beautiful apple core plate cast in silver.
