I got really excited when I saw these Collection Eyeshadow pencils at the bargain price of £2.50 in Superdrug and that's why I got five different colours! I had quite high hopes for them and thought I would be able to create some really nice eye looks with them. However they weren't really what I thought they were going to be- I found them really difficult to blend and unless you just want one shade on your eye you can't really do any of the more subtle blending in of a crease colour, highlighting etc. I think in the future I will stick to powder eyeshadows that I can apply with my makeup brushes.
That being said, I didn't want to give up on them entirely and so I tried them out in some different ways and I have found they are quite good for some other things. The white pencil works quite nicely as a highlight just above the cupid's bow, a little above the arch of the eyebrow and on the cheekbone- you need to blend a bit with your fingers but the result isn't bad. The brown pencil I used as a thick eyeliner and again blended out a little with a cottunbud and this also worked well (I am probably going to use the remaining pencils for this too).
Let me know if you have used eyeshadow pencils in the past and whether you have any tips or tricks that make the blending process easier?
